The image needs some updating, but it is simply about letting something go- so I like the idea of sharing the load/asking for help, waiting/patience, self-knowledge. Those things help us move along as well. It was the imagery my friend used to get me through a tough spot when we were younger so I can't really change the story, but I still love the idea of letting things go- it doesn't happen enough in life.Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05338325503246536248noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-413478178302565063.post-5210248738984006662011-04-22T21:38:17.420-04:002011-04-22T21:38:17.420-04:00> I love to visualize the bag sailing down the ...> I love to visualize the bag sailing down the mountain, rolling away.

So - what happens to your metaphorical baggage after you have tossed it down the mountain? I ask because this analogy conjured up a negative image to me. You just don't do that in the mountains! For a start your baggage might hit and serious injure, or kill, someone below you. Secondly, you are polluting the environment and making a mess for someone else to clear up. Actual mountain options are several: if you are doing an out-and-back route, then you can leave you pack neatly at the trailside and return to pick it up on the way back down after you have gained the summit; you can make sure you do not set out with a pack that is too heavy for you, of which a part is making sure the load is fairly split (according to ability) among the climbing party; finally, when the elements turn against you, the best option is to turn round and live to climb another day.juleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02591920483149775255noreply@blogger.com
